| OBJECTIVE: | My goal is to work with at-risk elementary school children in a counselor or teacher position. | I would like to design a program or work within an existing program that assists these very needy student in improving their school achievement and most of all their aspirations for their future endeavors. |

WORK HISTORY:
1999-2002-Tutor, Hartford-Sumner Elementary School. January-June, I work as Tutor in the After-School Remediation Program tutoring students from grades 4-6. Currently applying for a Fleet Grant to improve the program via exploration of local libraries, math exploration workshop, and reading and writing workshops.
2001-Behavioral and Academic Tutor for the Hartford-Sumner Elementary School. Currently tutor a 5-yr. old female Kindergarten student with sever behavioral problems at her residence.
2000 - Internship with Advocates for Children as part of my SBS Degree Program. My supervisor was Betsy Norcross Plourde. I worked with young students within a structured program teaching about Safe Touch and Abuse Prevention. I also attended sessions on Conflict Resolution and Anti-Bullying.
1999-Present - Personal Tutor for Homeschooler. Tutor a 13-yr. old female student in math and creative writing. We are currently working on our second semester of pre-algebra and a Maine history report.
1997-1999 - Work Study Student, Dean Betty Robinson's Office, Lewiston-Auburn College/USM. Using my 23 years of office experience, I assisted the staff and professors with phone, copying, mailings, and other pertinent jobs.
1990-1994 - Office Manager, Edward Little High School, Auburn School System. I enjoyed working with the administrators, teachers, and students in the job of organizing the office and in the efficient operation of school reports, among other jobs. It was this experience that led me to a college degree and plans to work with young students.
1980-1990 - Bookkeeper, Secretary, Maine Sportsman. I worked as a secretarial clerk until in 1984 I moved up to the bookkeeper position. I began the position with no actual accounts receivable officially set up. I brought in the One-Write System, then researched and introduced the company to a computer program for MacIntosh computer. This allowed us to computerize the system, which they accepted and purchased. I also worked with the Accountants with the annual review, which was facilitated by the addition of a computerized program.
EDUCATION:
1994-2002 - Lewiston-Auburn College/University of Southern Maine, Social and Behavioral Science Program Degree, with a Concentration on Counseling and a Minor in Education; Graduated May, 2002, Suma Cum Laude with 124 credits and a G.P.A. of 3.89.
1968-1969 - Medical Secretarial Degree, Plus-Gray School Business (Dean's List Graduate). Now known as Casco Bay School of Business.
1964-1968 - Diploma in the College Program at Leavitt High School (Honors, 6th in Class).
