B20 demonstration happening April 22-23, 2004

at the

University of Southern Maine!

To officially celebrate the recent 5:1 referendum victory, the Biodiesel Initiative will be sponsoring a two-day B20 biodiesel initiative starting on Earth Day, April 22.  The event is being made possible with funds from the NWF Campus Ecology fellowship and EnviroCitizen.  The entire VIP/USM shuttle fleet will be operating on B20 biodiesel for two consecutive days.  A breakfast-event will be held from 8-10:00 AM on Earth Day.

Biodiesel fuel is being procured from Frontier Energy of South China, ME.  The owner of VIP Charter Bus Co., Ray Penfold, is excited about the idea of trying out the new  fuel.  He recently stated that he looks forward to being the first bus company in the state to run its fleet on domestic, renewable biodiesel.

Attending the Earth Day celebration will be students, community leaders including Mr. Penfold and local representatives, and madia.  Please join us the morning on the 22nd for an official recognition of this great accomplishment!  Click here for the University's press release.

Biodiesel is a step in the right direction!
